Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a phone conversation on Friday. They discussed the recent attempted rebellion in Russia and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

During the call, Putin updated Modi on the current situation regarding the war and expressed dissatisfaction with Ukraine. He stated that the Ukrainian government lacks seriousness in finding a diplomatic and political solution to the issue.

Earlier, Putin had praised Modi during a program in Moscow, calling him the Prime Minister of India and his friend. He acknowledged Modi's "Make in India" initiative and highlighted his success on a global scale.

Emphasis on India's Friendship In a statement from Putin's office, it was mentioned that the Russian President emphasized the friendship and historical relations between India and Russia. He expressed his government's desire to strengthen these ties further.

Prime Minister Modi provided detailed information to Putin about the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the G20. According to reports, Modi stressed the importance of resolving the Ukraine issue through dialogue and diplomacy. He also informed Putin about his recent visit to the United States. Additionally, Modi expressed his support for the Russian government regarding the recent Wagner rebellion in Russia.


Putin Describes Prime Minister Modi as a Special Friend

During a significant trade and industry event in Moscow on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his special friend. Putin highlighted the success of India's 'Make in India' program and its positive impact on the country's economy.

Denis Alipov, Russia's Ambassador to India, also emphasized the strong strategic partnership between India and Russia. He expressed concerns about ongoing attempts to defame and isolate Russia, highlighting the importance of preserving their bilateral relations.

According to Alipov, Prime Minister Modi initiated the 'Make in India' program in 2014 to enhance India's economic strength. The program included 25 industrial sectors and has contributed to India's remarkable progress across various sectors, serving as a global example.
