Manipur Violence | Firing Reported on 20th June 2023 Night

15- 20 Rounds of Automatic Weapon Fire Reported in Thangjing, Manipur East.
Late on June 20, intermittent blasting was reported from Thangjing in Manipur East. According to officers, 15- 20 rounds of automatic armament fire were heard before it fell silent. This incident has raised enterprises regarding violence and insecurity in the region.

Officers have stated that the blasting was heard roughly 2 km north of Sugnu. The area also saw intermittent blasting reported from Geljang and Singda, which both fall in the Kangchup area. Between 8p.m. and 930p.m., 4- 5 rounds were fired from the Geljan and Singda areas. According to an functionary, this was academic fire and not aimed at each other. The distance between the two places is only 2 km.
